The Proper Way of Finding Wholesale Products to Sell on eBay Takes a Little Work But Will Pay Off

If you’re looking for wholesale products to sell on eBay or another auction site, you’ve probably already found many distributors that don’t live up to the hype. Selling on eBay can be a great way to make a living but you need to deal with the right wholesaler to be successful.

Wholesalers and dropshippers vary widely in their quality and prices. Many of the wholesaling companies you’ll find with a quick search on Google or Yahoo are not really wholesalers at all. Most of them will sell to anyone who comes to the site, sometimes after charging a fee to join.

If anyone can go to the wholesale website and buy at “wholesale” prices, why would they buy from you on eBay or another auction? If you’re hoping to make money on eBay, you need to be able to buy your wholesale items for less than the average shopper so you can sell them at a profit.

How Do You Find a Wholesaler That Helps You Be Profitable?

Doing a quick Google search for “wholesale products” or “Product X wholesaler” will not get you anywhere. You need to put in a little more time and effort to be successful. eBay is a great way to earn an income for many people (over 400,000 full-time sellers at eBay’s last count) but it still requires some work.

There are some things to look for in choosing a good wholesaler:

  • Look for a wholesale distributor that will only deal with businesses with a tax ID#. A true wholesaler will not sell to the average shopper.
  • Beware of sites that require a fee to “join”. A true wholesale supplier does not require a membership fee.
  • Watch for reasonable order quantities. You’ll get better prices from large-scale wholesalers who sell in large quantities, but if you’re just starting out you want to be able to order smaller numbers to test the products on eBay.
