Finding a good supplier for wholesale pet products, or any other wholesale merchandise, is something eBay sellers should not take lightly. There are many so-called wholesalers on the internet that are not really wholesaling at all.

Whether you’re looking for a wholesaler or a dropship company, there are some things you can do to improve the results of your search. When most people start looking for a wholesale company, they turn to Google or Yahoo and do a search such as “pet products wholesale.”

This kind of search will turn up many, many results but most of them will not be worth the time to check out. Many of the so-called wholesale companies on the internet are really middlemen who buy from a true wholesaler and then sell to anyone who wants to buy from them.

How to Identify a True Wholesaler or Drop Shipper

There are a few common things that will identify quality wholesalers and dropshippers:

• They will only sell to companies, usually only if they have a tax ID#. If they will sell to anyone, they’re not really a wholesaler, but a retailer. It might be discounted, but it is not truly wholesale.
• They don’t charge a fee to “join” their club. A true wholesaler wants to sell you their products, not a membership to their shopping club.
• Ideally, they don’t sell their own products to consumers. If you're trying to make money on eBay you don’t want to have to compete with the manufacturer or distributor of your products.

With these things in mind, it is easier to wade through the results of search in Google or Yahoo to find the gems.
