There are many different types of knives that can be sold on eBay. You could sell kitchen knives, hunting knives, pocket knives or decorative knives. There are buyers for any number of different types, but if you want to make money on eBay you’ll need to find a supplier of wholesale knives.

Finding suppliers of wholesale merchandise – whether knives or something else – is not as difficult as many people think. There are lots of tricks that can help you track down wholesalers.

How Do You Find Wholesale Suppliers?

One of the first things most people do is head on over to Google and search for something like “knives wholesale” or “wholesale knife supplier”. These kinds of searches will get lots of results, but 99.9% of them are not what you’re looking for.

You’ll either get companies who call themselves wholesalers but really just sell to anybody or websites selling wholesale lists that supposedly give you hundreds or thousands of wholesale companies.

There are a few ways that you can find true wholesalers. Keep in mind a true wholesale distributer will only deal with a company – not individuals – and generally requires a tax ID# before they will sell to you.

First, if you do want to search on Google or Yahoo, try adding words like “tax id” or “application” to your wholesale knife search. This is more likely to give you results that are true wholesalers.

Another trick to finding knife wholesalers is to take a trip down to your local dollar store or discount mart. Often, you can find merchandise there that you might be interested in selling that have the manufacturer or wholesaler’s address - and possibly phone number or website – right on the box. Buy one of these or take note of the information and contact them directly to find out about buying their products at wholesale.
