using templates with ebay to improve your selling prices

Free eBay Templates Can Make a Big Difference in Your Selling Prices

When you list items on e Bay using the standard “Sell Your Item” process, the auction looks pretty plain. The description will just be plain text and there won’t be any tables, borders, or pictures. Using one of the many free eBay templates will make your listing much more attractive and professional, which is important to make money on eBay.

A template is a type of auction tools that is basically a simple web page, designed so you just have to add your listing information to it. This page is then uploaded to eBay during the listing process so the auction looks much nicer.

There are a couple of forms of free templates available. There are some that will require you to have a web design or HTML editing program like Frontpage or Netscape Composer. If you don’t have one of these tools, or you aren’t at all familiar with them, there are some free templates that let you enter your information and then automatically lay out the page for you.

Where Can You Find Free Templates for e-Bay?

There are number of websites that offer free templates for downloading. Some of them, such as auctionsupplies.com and alouwebdesign.com, have free templates that will require you to have web design or HTML tools to edit.

Other sites, such as auctioninsights.com and coolebaytools.com have automated template tools that will do the design work for you.

Another source for templates is not completely free. Macromedia, who makes the web design program Dreamweaver, recently released a version of their program called Contribute that works with the eBay Store system. This online auction software is about $150 to buy, but if you already own Contribute you can download the eBay plug-in tool for free.

Start at Home

When you first get started, it can be a little unnerving. The best option is to start by looking around your own home. Think of items that you would sell in a garage sale. However, instead of pricing each item and lugging it outside hoping for a nice sunny day, you can advertise them on the Internet.
