eBay Problems Can Take Many Forms, but You Can Avoid a Lot of Them With Some Common Sense

Some eBay problems with their auction site are beyond their control. Others have resulted in headlines like “eBay Sued for …” One of the worst eBay scams is the emails that are being sent to many users, trying to trick them into revealing their username and password.

These emails look like they are coming from eBay and usually say something to the effect of “Your account information is not up to date. Please log in and update your information.” They then have a link to what looks like eBay that you can click. Always double-check the address in your browser if you click one of these links to be sure it really takes to you to the eBay site.

The best way to avoid any problems from these emails is to go to e-Bay’s website yourself to see if they really want the information the email is asking for. Don’t click on the link within the message. If you log in yourself and the email is legitimate, eBay will alert you when you log in.

Other Problems Have Resulted in People Suing eBay

There have been other incidents that have resulted in lawsuits against e-Bay. They have been sued for slander over comments made in a user’s feedback. There are a number of aspects of eBay that people are unhappy with – for one of the worst eBay feedback is top of the list.

Because comments in feedback are difficult to have removed and almost anything can be entered as a comment, unfair or inaccurate information can be left. In this one case, the user felt eBay was at fault and sued them over it.

eBay has also been sued by companies such as Rolex. People often sell replica or imitation items on e Bay, often using the real brand name in their title or description. This is against eBay’s rules, but sometimes things slip through. They have been sued over these bogus auctions.
