Watch Out for eBay Motorcycle Scams

Recently there were over 58000 items advertised on eBay for motorcycles and motorcycle parts. Obviously not all of these are eBay motorcycle scams, however there seems to be sufficient scams taking place on eBay or through online auctions that many of the advertised items will have a note in their sales description telling purchasers to be careful of potential motorcycle scams.

The eBay online auto auction is a great way to sell your motorcycle or even purchase one. You can also purchase motorcycle parts and accessories through eBay online auctions.  Many advertisers will caution you about scams and missed auctions right in their listing. As well as motorcycles, you can also purchase autos, boats and motor homes at online car auctions on eBay using the eBay Motors auction website.

eBay motors had over 32000 products recently, most of which were auto accessories, however there were over 3000 autos for sale. There were another 200 items such as boats and motorhomes advertised as well on eBay Motors.

The power of eBay to sell motorcycles and autos through the online auction is nothing short of phenomenal. At the same time buyers and sellers must be careful of scams that are operating on eBay.

How You Can Spot a Scam

Some scamming operators will try to sell you inferior products, while others will contact you outside of eBay to try to sell you their products. Some will even try to tell you that their products are better quality than the one that was sold without providing a picture.

Be careful, since once your money has been transferred you often have no way of ever getting it back if you have been scammed. And eBay cannot help you in this situation if the transaction was completed outside of eBay, since they did not participate in the sale of the item.
