On eBay Golf Equipment Can Help Charities Raise Money as Well as Get You That New Driver You’ve Been Wanting

On eBay golf equipment is a hot category. Lots of people are buying and selling golf equipment and related items. You can find a lot of good deals, and if you’ve recently upgraded some equipment you can recover some of your costs by selling your old stuff on e Bay.

There are a lot of charities taking advantage of the popularity of golf items on eBay. A number of charities are raising money by selling on eBay. Some of the things they’re selling are quite valuable.

For example, LPGA Tour players have donated a number of auction items to help fund a Habitat for Humanity project in South Florida. There are a number of autographed items, but also rounds of golf with LPGA players are up for bid on e-Bay.

Other More Unusual Items Sometimes Also Get Auctioned For Charity

Another one of the auction websites to help raise money for charities is the “Staplers of the Stars” online auction created by Staples.com. Staples is selling staplers that have been autographed by more than 120 stars, including Jennifer Love Hewitt, the Dixie Chicks and Tiger Woods.

The money raised from the “Staplers of the Stars” auction is all going to charities designated by the stars who have signed the staplers.

eBay runs a section of their auction site called “Giving Works” which is their dedicated program for charity listings. This section lets charities sell items at auction, with proceeds going to benefit their various programs.

There is even an eBay Store set up for the Giving Works program, where you can view all items currently being sold through the program.

There is also a live auction eBay runs occasionally, and sometimes these are set up for charitable organizations as well. These are similar to an “offline” auction, where the auction is scheduled for a specific time and day and all bidding on the items up for sale is done in real-time. There have been golf related items selling in these live auctions, such as Tiger Woods autographed equipment and rounds of golf with professional golfers.
