Have You Ever Posted a Question on an Internet Forum Looking for eBay Dropshippers?

Dropshipping is one of the most common themes on most eBay-related internet message boards. There are regular questions asking how to find eBay dropshippers for many types of products – DVD dropshippers, electronics dropshippers, etc.

If you’re looking for wholesale products – whether dropshipped or not – it can be challenging to find reliable wholesalers. But posting a question on an internet message forum is not going to get you the answer you want.

Think about it for a moment – there are usually people on these boards (the better ones, at least) who are successful at selling on eBay or other on line auctions and may even be doing it full-time. But if they’re running an eBay business, why would they want to give out the names of their wholesale suppliers freely? It would just create more competition for them.

So How Do You Find Dropshippers and Wholesalers Then?

There are a number of ways to find wholesalers and dropshippers. You can use your favorite search engine – like Google or Yahoo – to do some searching. Don’t just search for "product x wholesale" though. True wholesalers will not deal with just anybody – they will only deal with companies who have a tax ID# or other proof of status.

When you do your searches, try things like "product x wholesale tax id" or "product x wholesale dealer application". These are more likely going to get you results from true wholesalers, who ask for these things before they will deal with you.

Another trick for finding wholesalers is to use your local Yellow Pages. It will depend on the size of your city and what products you are looking for, but you’ll be surprised how often you can get some names of local wholesalers from the Yellow Pages. Just look up the product category that you’re interested in, and see if any wholesale companies are listed.

If there are, you can contact them and see if they offer dropshipping services, or if they would be interested in working out a dropshipping arrangement with you.
