ebay cards

collecting cards on ebay and other online auctions

On eBay Cards Are a Very Popular Category

There are almost 300,000 items for sale when you do a quick search for eBay cards on eBay. If you then focus on cards that fall into the category of collectibles there are almost 75000 items listed for sale, for all types of cards that sellers feel fall into the collector category. This is such a huge number that it is difficult to manage and decide what you want to buy.

If your cards fall into the collectibles eBay category, you will need to spend some time reviewing what other cards are selling for on the online auctions so that you can get an idea of what you will be able to sell your cards for.

In addition you will need to write some good sales copy to make your listing more attractive on eBay so that your card or cards sell to collectors of that type of card.

Protect Your Investment with Reserve Prices

Reserve bids are also a good idea to consider for your online eBay auction, to protect yourself from selling one or all of your collectible cards at a price lower than you think it should sell for. There would be nothing worse that seeing your cards sell at 25% of the price you expected and then see them listed again by the buyer, with a well written sales copy with a reserve price that is 100% higher than what you sold it for. Protect yourself with reserve bids. Even if your collectible cards do not sell, it is better than selling at too low a price.

As we mentioned above there are a very large number of cards for sale on eBay that fall into the collectibles category. If you are buying cards for your collection, you can afford to be patient and bid on only those cards that are in pristine condition that will be a great addition to your collection.

Insurance

Insurance is usually a good idea but in general, it should be an optional feature, with the decision left to the buyer. Remember two important things about insurance. First, insurance is VERY inexpensive. Therefore, in your description, you should state how much insurance would cost and recommend it. Second, you should also state in the description that if insurance is not purchased, you are not responsible for lost or damaged items.
