Make Money with an E-bay AuctionDo you have a lot of unused items sitting around the house that you can’t ever seem to find a place for? Or, have you always dreamed of running your own business but just never seemed to find the right market? These two cases, although seemingly quite different, have one thing in common – they’re both great candidates for starting an online business with an e-bay auction. Thousands of people have joined the ranks of Ebay sellers and there’s no reason you shouldn’t get in on the action. From Avon collectibles to used cars, there’s hundreds of ways to make money using an online auction site. Don’t be intimidated if you don’t know that much about computers or the internet. Ebay’s tools make managing even the most complex auctions a piece of cake. Auctioning items is as easy as typing a few simple product descriptions into Ebay’s template. Learn More About E-bay AuctioningThe way that auctioning something on Ebay works is this: after you place your auction, it’s electronically placed in a file with other auctions in its category. If someone is looking for items that are like what you are selling, they will come across your auction in the list of other auctions of similar products. If they wish to purchase your item, they place a bid. Once they have bid, then other potential buyers have the chance to bid as well, driving up the price, just like at a traditional auction. This method has proven to be very profitable for thousand of Ebay users. So what does it cost? At first, nothing. It is absolutely free to become a member of Ebay. When you sell a product, you are charged a modest listing fee, usually no more than a couple of dollars. Once Ebay sells your item, you are charged a percentage fee, approximately 1.5%. For example, if you sell a lamp for $100. You would probably be charged about $3 to list your auction, and then charged $1.50 for the sale. This is a $4.5 dollar cost on a $100 profit. Pretty nice, huh? Related Articles For more information about eBay and other online auctions, or to choose from a variety of related products and services, choose from one of the following links: |

Sell by LotsIf you have two or more of one item, you can list it as a “lot.” For example, if you had five bottles of suntan lotion purchased from a salvage store for .50 each, and you decided to list them on eBay for $1.00 each, rather than list each one separately, another option is to sell them as a lot. Often times, people perform their search based on lots. However, if you had one bottle of suntan lotion, one bottle of regular lotion, and one bottle of aloe vera, you would want to list them as their own item.
