Most sellers online are honest people and will tell you exactly what is wrong with a car, if anything. I would consider it a good idea to open a “contact seller” dialog and discuss the purchase at length via email before deciding to buy. Ask for honest information regarding any areas of concern you may have. For example:  “Is the title clear and in your name?” 

Also, you must consider how to get the car from the seller to your location. Shipping companies will ship cars, but you have to consider that price when bidding on the car. If the buyer is in a location near enough to make it practical, you might consider traveling to get the car yourself.
