Once You Place Your Bid eBay Can Automatically Manage Your Bid For You

When you're bidding on an auction, after you place your bid eBay will automatically increase it as necessary. They use a process called a proxy that will do this for you without any extra auction software.

The way this proxy works is you can bid the maximum price that you would pay for an item. eBay will only increase the high bid by the smallest increment allowed (this depends on the price). They will then increase your bid to beat any others automatically, up to the maximum you’ve set.

For example, if the current bid on an auction is $5 and you offer $20, eBay will increase the highest to $5.50 (assuming $0.50 is the increment). As other people outbid that amount, eBay automatically increases your price to beat them until the bidding goes over $20.

What Other Software Is Available to Help Win Auctions?

There are lots of other programs available to help automate your bidding. Some of them run on your computer and others are available through the internet. The most common software for helping with bids is auction sniper software.

Sniping is the practice of bidding on an item in the last few seconds of the auction to try to get the highest bid without leaving any time for someone else to outbid you afterwards. There are many programs and websites that offer these services, such as esnipe.com.

With these programs, you enter your highest bid, as well as the auction information, and they will automatically snipe the auction for you at the last possible moment, hoping to beat any last minute bidders to the punch. The eBay sniper is a controversial subject. Many people think it is cheating, but eBay doesn’t stop it and many people win a lot of auctions this way.

Auction Price

Set your auctions low, which will help encourage more bidding. The more bidding you have, the higher the price will ultimately go. In addition, if you add a “Buy Now” option for your auction, keep this set at a reasonable rate as well.
