Make Money with Auctions eBay

Millions are making money with auctions eBay. Most of these sellers use auctions to sell collectibles or other household items over the internet. These sellers often work a full time job and use eBay.com for extra income. Some of these sellers purchase items to sell in an auction. For these users, eBay is a great way to make some money for extras like vacations or other discretionary items.

Other sellers, called power sellers, use an internet auction web site to make a living. eBay is the best known auction website, with about 130,000,000 users. These people create a business of selling items online. It’s easy to start with eBay and start up costs for auctions are small. Like most businesses, running auctions on eBay.com for a living is time consuming.

Decide What to Sell and Get Started

Before you can start selling on eBay, you need to create an account with eBay. The web site will ask your name, address, email, phone and credit card numbers. Your credit card is charged each month for listing fees and commissions. Set up a Pay Pal account to accept payments online and you can be in business in minutes.

When deciding what to sell on eBay.com, there are a few things to consider. The first is price range. Lower priced items sell best on eBay. Most customers spend under fifty dollars on an item purchased on the website. More expensive items can and do sell, but not as frequently. Look at lower cost items to make a steady income on eBay auctions.

Consider how difficult the product will be to ship. Breakable items are more difficult to sell over the internet because of shipping. You will have to pack the item carefully and packing materials will be more expensive when auctioning breakables. Take this cost into consideration when choosing what to sell on eBay. Unbreakable items that require little packagings are easier and you have less risk of products arriving at the buyer broken.

Whatever you decide to sell, you need to attract people to bid on your auction. There are literally hundreds of books on this subject. Read a few of them for some ideas on attracting bids. Basically, you need to appear professional and credible. When setting up your auctions, take time to make them appear professional. Build a good record with positive feedback from eBay customers. People do look at the seller’s feedback, and you want people to see that your auctions are professional and you deliver quickly.
