Save Money Using Auction Image HostingNext time you’re uploading pictures onto eBay for an online auction, pay attention to what it’s costing you for every picture you load. On an auction with five or six pictures, you’ll generally pay about one dollar per auction for auction image hosting. There are a couple of ways to avoid these fees, or at least lessen them. While you may not really care if you’re only selling a couple of items, for people who have larger-scale eBay stores, finding a good place to host images can be an absolutely vital part of maintaining a good business. For the most part, these tips are very easy to implement, and require almost no use of specialized auction management software. The first tip is this: since eBay charges you by the picture, simply make a collage of at least two different pictures, side by side, using your home office photo editor. Any reliable image program should be able to do this relatively easy job, and if you make sure to reduce the file sizes accordingly, you shouldn’t run into any problems with image size restrictions. Loading you pictures this way should easily cut your image hosting fees in half if not more. Reduce eBay Fees by Hosting Your Own Image WebsiteAnother great way to reduce the amount you pay into eBay for image hosting fees is this: simply put a link to the photos on your own website. Using you own URL, which many people already have, will save you all of eBay’s image auctions fees. Another advantage to this method is that you can upload much higher quality photos than you could normally. eBay generally requires that you resize your images so that they can easily fit on their site without taking up too much space. With your own private website this isn’t a problem, and you can easily load as many photos as you want at whatever sizes you wish. PhotographsWhile auctions without photographs can and do sell, auctions with photographs sell much better. People like visualizations and want to see what their money is getting them. Make sure your photograph is clear, focused, and depending on the item (such as rings, shoes, etc.), offers more than just a straight view.
