First you create a free account with eBay. You can then browse through nearly a thousand categories of items for sale. The categories listed include: clothing and jewelry to baby items, furniture, collectibles, computers and many more. When you find an item you want, you enter the maximum amount you want to pay. There’s a buy it now feature on many items if you want to purchase an item without bidding on it. Many people start out buying an item and then use both buy and sell eBay services. You can often save quite a bit of money with items bought on eBay. eBay is a great place for locating hard to find items, such as books and collectibles. The search feature is helpful for locating the item you are looking to buy quickly. To make money on eBay is just as easy as saving money. Basic Information for Selling Items On eBayWhether you want to sell a few items or looking to make more money, an auction on eBay is easy. You create an account and list your item for sale. You can register to accept payments through PayPal for the items you sell. Many sellers accept check or money order as well. You will be charged certain fees for listing and selling your items. There are a few fees associated with selling on eBay. When you initially list the item you intend to sell, you are charged an insertion fee. This fee depends upon the price at the start of the auction or the reserve price. Insertion fees start at twenty five cents for an item being sold for under a dollar to $4.80 for an item listed at over five hundred dollars. This fee is charged whether or not your item sells. If the item auctioned does sell, you will be charged a final value fee. This fee is based on a percentage of the price the item sold for. Items selling for under twenty five dollars have a final value fee of 5.25 per cent. Values above twenty five dollars but less than a thousand are charged a fee of 5.25 percent for the first twenty five dollars and 2.75 per cent of the remaining amount. There are additional fees for optional selling features on eBay. Some available options can help the item you intend to auction sell faster. You can choose to add a reserve price, a buy it now feature or pictures to your ad, all for various small fees. There are other seller tools and listing upgrades available to eBay sellers for a fee.
